A415 & New Close Lane (Witney) Proposed 30mph Speed Limit & Parking Restrictions

Oxfordshire County Council proposes to make changes to the existing speed limits and introduce additional parking prohibitions near the Ducklington roundabout on the A415 in Witney. The proposals are being put forward in order to facilitate the safe movement of traffic in light of the new retail facility. Specifically, the changes comprise of the following proposals:

A415 Ducklington Lane:

  • Reduce the 40mph speed limit to a 30mph speed limit on the A415 either side of, and including the roundabout i.e. for 65 metres on the north side and 95 metres to the south.

New Close Lane:

  • Introduce ‘No Waiting at Any Time’ (Double Yellow Lines) parking prohibition along both sides of the entire length of New Close Lane.

Objections to the proposals and other representations, specifying the grounds on which they are made, may be sent in by completing the online questionnaire, via email or in writing (quoting ref: CM.12.6.410) to the address below by 28 August 2020. The Council will consider objections and representations received in response and they may be disseminated widely for these purposes and made available to the public.

Any unresolved objections will be reported to the Council’s Cabinet meeting later in 2020. The papers for the meeting will be available on the County Council’s website about a week before the meeting.
