Merton Road (Ambrosden) Proposed 30mph Speed Limit

Oxfordshire County Council is proposing to extend the existing 30mph speed limit on Merton Road in Ambrosden. The proposals are being put forward for road safety reasons in response to the development of land adjacent to Merton Road, running south-westwards towards the M40. The extended limit will cover the new access junction to the residential development being constructed, allowing for the safe entry/exit of vehicles at the junction:

  • Merton Road – extend the 30mph speed limit on Merton Road by 100 metres, reducing the current National Speed Limit (60mph) by the same amount ,

Objections to the proposals and other representations, specifying the grounds on which they are made, may be sent in by completing the online questionnaire, via email or in writing (quoting ref: CM.12.6.105) to the address below by 09 July 2021. The Council will consider objections and representations received in response and they may be disseminated widely for these purposes and made available to the public.

Any unresolved objections will be reported to the Council’s Cabinet meeting later in 2021 (the Forward Plan of decisions meetings can be viewed here). The papers for the meeting will be available on the County Council’s website about a week before the meeting.
