A4155 Reading Road (Henley-on-Thames) Proposed Car Club Parking Bay

Oxfordshire County Council (in conjunction with Henley-on-Thames Town Council) proposes to introduce a permanent place for a ‘Car Club’ Parking Bay within the town.

This will be the first for the town and is seen as an important step towards improving the local environment by reducing car ownership, through the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions and improving air quality (Hybrid vehicles will be provided for rental). The location meets the requirements of high visibility (located on a busy route into Henley) and being easily accessible to local housing.

  • A4155 Reading Road (northeast side) - bay to be located approx. 23.5 metres northwest of the junction with Fairview Estate outside ‘Gibbs & Dandy’, in an existing unrestricted parking area.

Any person may apply to the Town Councils supplier to be a member.

Objections to the proposals and other representations, specifying the grounds on which they are made, may be sent in by completing the online questionnaire, via email or in writing (quoting ref: CM.12.6.245) to the address below by 18 June 2021. The Council will consider objections and representations received in response and they may be disseminated widely for these purposes and made available to the public.

Any unresolved objections will be reported to the Council’s Cabinet meeting later in 2021 (the Forward Plan of decisions meetings can be viewed here). The papers for the meeting will be available on the County Council’s website about a week before the meeting.
