Iffley Various Roads (Oxford) Proposed Parking & Waiting Restrictions

Oxfordshire County Council is consulting on the proposals to introduce additional ‘No Waiting at Any Time’ (double yellow lines) parking restrictions within Iffley, Oxford. The proposals are being introduced as a result of inappropriate/inconsiderate parking within certain areas, and specifically, the measures comprise of the following:

Introduce ‘No Waiting at Any Time’ (Double Yellow Lines - DYLs) on the following sections of road:

  • Iffley Turn:
    • East side – new section to join the existing restrictions south of Cavell Road & opposite the junction of Augustine Way,
    • West side – two new additions: a) extending the existing restriction south of Cavell Road southwards for an additional 23 metres, and b) extending the existing restriction north of Augustine Way for an additional 5 metres.
  • Mill Lane:
    • East/North side – two new sections comprising: a) at the northern end from the junction with Church Way southwards for 137 metres, and b) at the southern end, 70 metres from the junction with Church Way.
    • West/South side – four new sections, comprising: a) at the northern end from the junction with Church Way for 67 metres, b) outside the access to No. 12, c) southwards from the public footpath to Iffley Lock for 38 metres, and d) at the southern end from the junction with Church Way westwards for 76 metres
  • Tree Lane & Stone Quarry Lane – new restrictions on both sides, covering the access/junction with Azors Court.

Additionally, a ban on parking for HGVs over 5 tonnes and Coaches will apply on all days between 8pm & 7am on Iffley Turn, between the newly extended double yellow line restrictions between the junctions of Cavell Road and Augustine Way will be introduced to help improve the environment for local residents.

Objections to the proposals and other representations, specifying the grounds on which they are made, may be sent in by completing the online questionnaire, via email or in writing (quoting ref: CM.12.6.320) to the address below by 13 August 2021. The Council will consider objections and representations received in response and they may be disseminated widely for these purposes and made available to the public.

Any unresolved objections will be reported to the Council’s Cabinet meeting later in 2021 (the Forward Plan of decisions meetings can be viewed here). The papers for the meeting will be available on the County Council’s website about a week before the meeting.
