Abingdon, Oxford & South Oxfordshire (Various) Proposed Virtual 'Pay & Display' Parking Tickets

Oxfordshire County Council is proposing to give the option to allow payments for on-street parking without the need to pay at a machine and displaying a parking ticket on a vehicle within Abingdon, Oxford & South Oxfordshire.

Specifically, a `Virtual Parking Ticket` will be able to be obtained by means of connectivity to the internet or an appropriate application (`App`) via a mobile phone, or similar method (without the need to display a ticket) but which then gives the same rights and responsibilities as the issue of a ticket for display. Enforcement officers will have access to the relevant information to perform their duties.

* Charges for parking remain unchanged.

PLEASE NOTE: the ability to pay by other means will remain as currently is (i.e. cash at the machine), this proposal simply adds an additional method of payment to the options.

Objections to the proposals and other representations, specifying the grounds on which they are made, may be sent in by completing the online questionnaire, via email or in writing (quoting ref: AK) to the address below by 23 July 2021. The Council will consider objections and representations received in response and they may be disseminated widely for these purposes and made available to the public.

Any unresolved objections will be reported to the Council’s Cabinet meeting later in 2021 (the Forward Plan of decisions meetings can be viewed here). The papers for the meeting will be available on the County Council’s website about a week before the meeting.
