A361 Bloxham Road (Banbury) Proposed 40mph Speed Limit

Oxfordshire County Council is consulting on the proposal to introduce a 40mph speed limit on the A361 Bloxham Road, leading south-westwards out of Banbury. This 'interim' proposal amends an ongoing consultation (see here for details) in respect of extending the 30mph limit on the A361, which may be revisited in the future. Specifically it is proposed to:

  • introduce a 40mph speed limit on the A361 Bloxham Road - from the terminal point of the (Banbury) town 30mph limit through to meet the existing 50mph limit near Wykham Lane.
  • When nearby development work is completed a reduction to 30mph may be reconsidered for this area.

Objections to the proposals and other representations, specifying the grounds on which they are made, may be sent in by completing the online questionnaire, via email or in writing (quoting ref:CM/12.6.120/136) to the address below by 06 December 2019. The Council will consider objections and representations received in response and they may be disseminated widely for these purposes and made available to the public.

Any unresolved objections will be reported to the Council’s Cabinet meeting early in 2020. The papers for the meeting will be available on the County Council’s website about a week before the meeting.
