A40 London Road (Forest Hill) Proposed Layby Closures

Oxfordshire County Council proposes to stop the use of the laybys on each carriageway of the A40 at Forest Hill by closing access to vehicles, thereby removing the public facilities completely.  The proposals are being put forward due to inappropriate parking and associated anti-social behaviour. Specifically, the proposals apply to the following laybys:

    • M40 bound carriageway - located approximately 330m* west from the junction with Church Hill (for its entire length), and
    • Oxford bound carriageway - situated approximately 135m* east from the junction with Church Hill (for its entire length).

* All dimensions are approximate, taken from the centre of the junction to the centre of the feature.

Objections to the proposals and other representations, specifying the grounds on which they are made, may be sent in by completing the online questionnaire, via email or in writing (quoting ref: CM.12.6.302) to the address below by 05 June 2020. The Council will consider objections and representations received in response and they may be disseminated widely for these purposes and made available to the public.

Any unresolved objections will be reported to the Council’s Cabinet meeting later in 2020. The papers for the meeting will be available on the County Council’s website about a week before the meeting.
