A4130 Calvin Thomas Way (Brightwell-cum-Sotwell/Wallingford) Proposed 40mph Speed Limit & No Right Turn Restriction

Oxfordshire County Council proposes to make permanent the existing temporary restrictions currently in place on the A4130 Calvin Thomas Way in Brightwell-cum-Sotwell, next to Wallingford. The proposals are being put forward as a result of the development of adjacent land for residential purposes and with the construction of a new access junction. Specifically, the changes comprise of the following:

    • to introduce a 40mph speed limit  on the A4130 Calvin Thomas Way from the Slade End (Wantage Road) roundabout southwards to the Hithercroft roundabout, and

    • a ‘No Right Turn’ restriction for traffic entering and leaving* the St Edwards Homes housing development access road onto the A4130 Calvin Thomas Way.

* Redirected traffic will have to turn at the roundabouts.

Objections to the proposals and other representations, specifying the grounds on which they are made, may be sent in by completing the online questionnaire, via email or in writing (quoting ref: CM.12.6.390) to the address below by 28 March 2020. The Council will consider objections and representations received in response and they may be disseminated widely for these purposes and made available to the public.

Any unresolved objections will be reported to the Council’s Cabinet meeting later in 2020. The papers for the meeting will be available on the County Council’s website about a week before the meeting.
