B4437 Forest Road, Windrush River & Ninety Cut Hill Bridges (Charlbury, Minster Lovell & Astall) Proposed Weight Restrictions

Oxfordshire County Council proposes to make changes to the structural weight limit restrictions at various bridge locations. The proposals will ensure the longevity of the bridges whilst a program of improvements is planned for remedial work, subject to available finance, with a view to removing or raising the weight restriction limits - specifically it is proposed to:

  • introduce a permanent 18t structural weight limit - on the Windrush River Bridge, in Minster Lovell,
  • introduce a permanent 3t structural weight limit - at Ninety Cut Hill for the Windrush River Bridge, in Asthall, and
  • replace the existing traffic regulation order covering the 7.5t weight limit for the B4437 Forest Road / Dyers Hill in Charlbury, to better clarify the description.

Objections to the proposals and other representations, specifying the grounds on which they are made, may be sent in by completing the online questionnaire, via email or in writing (quoting ref: AK/12.6.302)  to the address below by 29 May 2020. The Council will consider objections and representations received in response and they may be disseminated widely for these purposes and made available to the public.

Any unresolved objections will be reported to the Council’s Cabinet meeting later in 2020. The papers for the meeting will be available on the County Council’s website about a week before the meeting.
