B4027 Wheatley Road (Islip) Proposed 20mph & 40mph Speed Limits

Oxfordshire County Council proposes to introduce lower speed limits within Islip village for road safety reasons. The proposals seek to better manage the speed of traffic entering the village on the B4027 Wheatley Road, and specifically comprise of the following measures:

  • extend the existing 20mph speed limit southwards for an additional 137 metres, in place of the same length of 30mph limit, and
  • introduce a 40mph speed limit ‘buffer’ extending southwards for 300 metres from the above extended 20mph limit, reducing the existing speed limit by the same amount.

Objections to the proposals and other representations, specifying the grounds on which they are made, may be sent in by completing the online questionnaire, via email or in writing (quoting ref: CM.12.6.160) to the address below by 18 December 2020. The Council will consider objections and representations received in response and they may be disseminated widely for these purposes and made available to the public.

Any unresolved objections will be reported to the Council’s 'Cabinet Members Decisions' (CMD) meeting early in 2021. The papers for the meeting will be available on the County Council’s website about a week before the meeting.

Please read the information provided on this consultation. Your views and opinions matter. Please take the time to respond.
