B4030 (Bicester) Proposed 40mph Speed Limit and Bus Stop Clearways

Oxfordshire County Council proposes to extend the 40mph speed limit (in place of the current national speed limit) by 225 metres, westwards on the B4030, Bicester and to also install two bus-stop ‘clearways’ with “No stopping except buses” restrictions, located on both sides of the B4030. Specifically these can be found at:

  • On the Northern  side of the road - approx. 120 metres* west of the roundabout junction with the A4095 Howes Lane, and
  • On the Southern side of the road - approx. 230 metres* west of the roundabout junction with the A4095 Howes Lane.

*All dimensions are approximate, taken from the centre of the junction to the centre of the proposed bus stop.

The proposals are being put forward as a result of the residential development adjacent to the B4030 and to facilitate the safe operation of local bus services in the area.

Objections to the proposals and other representations, specifying the grounds on which they are made, may be sent in by completing the online questionnaire, via email or in writing (quoting ref: JaC/12.6.129) to the address below by 3 May2019. The Council will consider objections and representations received in response and they may be disseminated widely for these purposes and made available to the public.

Any unresolved objections will be reported to the Council’s Cabinet meeting in June 2019. The papers for the meeting will be available on the County Council’s website about a week before the meeting.
