B4493 Didcot Road (Harwell) Proposed Width Restriction

Following an earlier consultation carried out in November 2015 (for details click here) regarding the relocation of the width restriction on the B4493 Didcot Road - due to expiration of the statutory 2 year period to finalise the Traffic Regulation Order, Oxfordshire County Council is now re-consulting on the same proposal:

  • B4493 Harwell to Didcot Road - to move the entry point of the width limit in Didcot westwards from Slade Road towards Harwell and relocate it 15 metres west of the new roundabout for the Harwell link road east of the A34.
  • This has the effect on directing wide vehicles travelling westwards from Didcot to go south on the new link road to avoid Harwell. The existing Oxfordshire County Council (Harwell) (Width Restriction) Order 1982 will be revoked/replaced.

* All dimensions are approximate, taken from the centre of the junction to the centre of the feature. This proposal also replaces the one that was put forward previously.

Objections to the proposals and other representations, specifying the grounds on which they are made, may be sent in by completing the online questionnaire, via email or in writing (quoting ref: CM.12.6.243) to the address below by 01 March 2019. The Council will consider objections and representations received in response and they may be disseminated widely for these purposes and made available to the public.

Any unresolved objections will be reported to the Council’s Cabinet meeting later in 2019. The papers for the meeting will be available on the County Council’s website about a week before the meeting.

This consultation has now closed and feedback is available.
