Barracks Lane (Oxford) Proposed Parking Restrictions

Oxfordshire County Council proposes to extend the existing parking restrictions and introduce additional restrictions along Barracks Lane in Oxford. These proposals are being put forward a result of the development of land adjacent to the road and concerns over traffic safety and movement due to the current amount of unregulated waiting.

It is proposed to make the following changes:

  • to introduce new/extend existing areas of Prohibition of Waiting at Any Time (Double Yellow Lines) on both sides, from Hollow Way to the junction with William Morris Close, also into the junctions with William Morris Close and Turner Close, and at the western turning area, and
  • to introduce on the south side (35 metres east of William Morris Close) eastwards for a distance of 20 metres an area of No Waiting Monday to Friday between 8am and 6.30pm (Single Yellow Lines)

Objections to the proposals and other representations, specifying the grounds on which they are made, may be sent in by completing the online questionnaire, via email, or in writing (quoting ref: AK/CM.12.6.320) to the address below by 11 January 2019. The Council will consider objections and representations received in response and they may be disseminated widely for these purposes and made available to the public.

Any unresolved objections will be reported to the Council’s Cabinet meeting early in 2019. The papers for the meeting will be available on the County Council’s website about a week before the meeting.
