Various Bus Lanes (Oxford & Kidlington) 'Blood Bike' Use Amendment

Oxfordshire County Council proposes to permit the use of all bus lanes in the Oxford & Kidlington area by liveried vehicles operated by the `Blood Bikes` charity in support of the NHS and other medical organisations, specifically:

  • marked `Blood Bikes` and other similarly marked vehicles will be permitted to use the Oxford area Bus Lanes for the urgent delivery of blood related products for use in health care. The vehicles are equipped with blue lights for safety but not permitted to exceed speed limits.

Objections to the proposals and other representations, specifying the grounds on which they are made, may be sent in by completing the online questionnaire, via email, or in writing (quoting ref: CM.12.6.320) to the address below by 22 February 2019. The Council will consider objections and representations received in response and they may be disseminated widely for these purposes and made available to the public.

Any unresolved objections will be reported to the Council’s Cabinet meeting later in 2019. The papers for the meeting will be available on the County Council’s website about a week before the meeting.

This consultation has now closed and the Traffic Regulation Orders have been made and come into force on 01 April 2019.
