Carswell Lane (Buckland) Proposed 20mph & 30mph Speed Limits

Oxfordshire County Council proposes to reduce the speed limit on Carswell Lane in Buckland, this is in response to concerns raised by the local school regarding road safety for vulnerable road users (especially children & pupils). Specifically the proposals will:

  1. introduce a 20mph speed limit leading from the A420 Oxford to Faringdon road northwards for 578 metres (to cover access to the school site), thereafter followed by,
  2. a new 30mph speed limit for the remainder of Carswell Lane.

Objections to the proposals and other representations, specifying the grounds on which they are made, may be sent in by completing the online questionnaire, via email or in writing (quoting ref: CM/12.6.147) to the address below by 13 March 2020. The Council will consider objections and representations received in response and they may be disseminated widely for these purposes and made available to the public.

Any unresolved objections will be reported to the Council’s Cabinet meeting later in 2020. The papers for the meeting will be available on the County Council’s website about a week before the meeting.
