Alchester Road & Orchard Rise (Chesterton) Proposed Parking Restrictions

Oxfordshire County Council proposes to introduce ‘No Waiting at Any Time’ parking restrictions (Double Yellow Lines) within Chesterton following concerns raised by the Parish Council & local residents.The proposals aims to restrict unauthorised parking outside private properties associated with increased traffic levels at school drop off & pick up times. Specifically, the changes comprise of the following proposals:

Introduce ‘No Waiting at Any Time’ parking restrictions (Double Yellow Lines) across private access ways and to protect junctions as follows:

  • Alchester Road:
    • along the east side in 13 locations, and
    • on the west side in 25 locations, and
  • Orchard Rise - along the outer kerb side in 7 locations, and on the inner kerb side in 6 locations.

Objections to the proposals and other representations, specifying the grounds on which they are made, may be sent in by completing the online questionnaire, via email or in writing (quoting ref: CM.12.6.161) to the address below by 28 August 2020. The Council will consider objections and representations received in response and they may be disseminated widely for these purposes and made available to the public.

Any unresolved objections will be reported to the Council’s Cabinet meeting later in 2020. The papers for the meeting will be available on the County Council’s website about a week before the meeting.
