Hinton Waldrist Bridleway 9 - Gate consultation - 2016

In March 2010 Oxfordshire County Council (OCC) decided to install a lockable gate at the entrance to Hinton Waldrist Bridleway 9 which leads from Duxford to the ford in order to prevent the use of that bridleway by vehicular traffic and safeguard the public.

OCC is currently seeking the views of anyone who is familiar with Bridleway 9 and/or has knowledge of how it is used in order to reach a view as to whether it is necessary to retain the gate for safety purposes. To do this we are posing the following questions:

  • Are you aware of any attempts by motorised vehicles to use the bridleway or any other anti-social behaviour on the bridleway which may affect the safety of persons using it over the last year or so? The more detail of a particular incident (e.g. date, time, description of vehicle, etc.) you are able to provide the better.
  • Are you able to comment on whether the existence of the lockable gate has served a safety purpose? If so, please provide the basis for your answer.

All responses will remain confidential and if you observe anything you think may fall within these queries please respond to the consultation at any point. The consultation will run from 1st August 2016 to 31st July 2017.
