Hanney Road (Steventon) Proposed Zebra Crossing & Traffic Calming Speed Cushions

Oxfordshire County Council proposes to make changes on the Hanney Road in Steventon. These proposals are being put forward in order to assist the safe movement of traffic in the area and help improve road safety, especially for vulnerable road-users. Specifically, the changes comprise of the following:

  • Zebra Crossing - a controlled crossing for use by pedestrians only, to be located approximately 16* metres southeast of its junction with Barnett Road.
  • Speed Cushions – two pairs of speed cushions approx. 3.7m long, 1.7m wide and 75mm high, to be located at the following points:
    • 41* metres northwest of the junction with Barnett Road, and
    • 15* metres northwest of the junction with St Michaels Way.

* dimensions are approximate, taken from the centre of the junction to the centre of the feature.

Objections to the proposals and other representations, specifying the grounds on which they are made, may be sent in by completing the online questionnaire, via email or in writing (quoting ref: CM.12.6.366) to the address below by 06 December 2019. The Council will consider objections and representations received in response and they may be disseminated widely for these purposes and made available to the public.

Any unresolved objections will be reported to the Council’s Cabinet meeting early in 2020. The papers for the meeting will be available on the County Council’s website about a week before the meeting.
