High Street (Kingston Blount) Proposed Traffic Calming Features

Oxfordshire County Council proposes to construct the following traffic calming features in Kingston Blount to assist the safe movement of traffic and help improve road safety in the area:

  • Kerbed chicane build-outs (each will be approx. 10m* long by 2.5m* wide) on High Street:
    • Eastern end – the first build-out exiting the village will be on the south side of the carriageway approx. 65 metres* north-east of its junction with Icknield Close, with the second build-out approx. 8 metres* further north on the northern side. Priority will be given to traffic travelling north-eastwards out the village,
    • Western end - the first build-out exiting the village will be on the north side of the carriageway approx. 100 metres* south-west of its junction with Stert Road, with the second build-out approx. 8 metres* further south on the southern side. Priority given to traffic travelling south-westwards out of the village.

(*All dimensions are approximate)
