Hinksey Hill & Oxford Road (South Hinksey/Kennington) Proposed 30mph Speed Limit

Oxfordshire County Council proposes to introduce a 30mph speed limit in place of the existing 40mph speed limit on Hinksey Hill, also extending the limit partly into Oxford Road and Foxcombe Road: The reduction in speed limits from 40mph to 30mph will be seen in:

  • Hinksey Hill for its whole length; and then
  • continuing for 160 metres on Oxford Road toward Kennington, and
  • for 100 metres into Foxcombe Road toward Boars Hill.
  • Betty Lane will also become 30mph for its whole length.

Objections to the proposals and other representations, specifying the grounds on which they are made, may be sent in by completing the online questionnaire, via email or in writing (quoting ref: CM/12.6.263/352) to the address below by 22 March 2019. The Council will consider objections and representations received in response and they may be disseminated widely for these purposes and made available to the public.

Any unresolved objections will be reported to the Council’s Cabinet meeting later in 2019. The papers for the meeting will be available on the County Council’s website about a week before the meeting.
