High Street (Long Wittenham) Proposed Parking Restrictions

Oxfordshire County Council proposes to introduce parking restriction on the northern side of High Street in Long Wittenham, at the newly reconfigured traffic calming build-out feature. The proposal is being put forward to address inappropriate parking in the immediate vicinity of the traffic calming measure preventing the safe use of the bypass lane by cyclists. The measures will free-up the carriageway immediately before and after the feature, which will ensure safer passage & navigation of the feature. Specifically, the proposals comprise of the following:

  • introduce a section of ‘No Waiting at Any Time’ (Double Yellow Lines) parking prohibition on the north side of High Street in Long Wittenham covering the full frontage and driveways of `Street House`, a distance of 29 metres.

Objections to the proposals and other representations, specifying the grounds on which they are made, may be sent in by completing the online questionnaire, via email or in writing (quoting ref: CM.12.6.287) to the address below by 15 January 2021. The Council will consider objections and representations received in response and they may be disseminated widely for these purposes and made available to the public.

Any unresolved objections will be reported to the Council’s Cabinet meeting early in 2021 (the Forward Plan of decisions meetings can be viewed here). The papers for the meeting will be available on the County Council’s website about a week before the meeting.
