Village Roads (Mixbury) Proposed 20mph Speed Limit & 30mph Extension

Oxfordshire County Council proposes to make additional changes to the speed limits within Mixbury village for road safety reasons, and to specifically help mitigate the increase in traffic  linked to the HS2 construction works. Specifically the proposals comprise of the following measures:

  • Introduce a 20mph speed limit on Church Road, Evenley Road & Main Street covering the centre of Mixbury village (replacing the existing 30mph speed limit), and
  • Extend the current 30mph speed limit on Main Street southwards by 102 metres reducing the existing 60mph National speed limit by the same amount.

Objections to the proposals and other representations, specifying the grounds on which they are made, may be sent in by completing the online questionnaire, via email or in writing (quoting ref: CM.12.6.303) to the address below by 22 May 2020. The Council will consider objections and representations received in response and they may be disseminated widely for these purposes and made available to the public.

Any unresolved objections will be reported to the Council’s Cabinet meeting later in 2020. The papers for the meeting will be available on the County Council’s website about a week before the meeting.
