Morrell Avenue (Oxford) Proposed Zebra Crossing

Oxfordshire County Council proposes to make changes on Morrell Avenue in Oxford. The proposals are being put forward in order to assist the safe movement of pedestrians in the area and help improve road safety, especially for the more vulnerable. Specifically, the changes comprise of the following:

  • Construction of a Zebra Crossing - a controlled crossing for use by pedestrians only, to be located approximately 10* metres southwest of its junction with Divinity Road, replacing the existing un-controlled crossing place.
  • The crossing will include a new kerbed central island with accompanying tactile paving.

* dimensions are approximate, taken from the centre of the junction to the centre of the feature.

Objections to the proposals and other representations, specifying the grounds on which they are made, may be sent in by completing the online questionnaire, via email or in writing (quoting ref: CM.12.6.320) to the address below by 27 March 2020. The Council will consider objections and representations received in response and they may be disseminated widely for these purposes and made available to the public.

Any unresolved objections will be reported to the Council’s Cabinet meeting later in 2020. The papers for the meeting will be available on the County Council’s website about a week before the meeting.
