North Parade Avenue (Oxford) Proposed Parking Amendments & Cycle Parking Provisions

Oxfordshire County Council proposes to convert sections of existing car parking to allow for bicycle parking in North Parade Avenue. The measures aim to improve the attractiveness and popularity of North Parade Avenue have come about following a series of meetings between North Parade Residents and Traders Association representatives and members of the County Council. Specifically, the changes comprise of the following:

North Parade Avenue (south side only):

  • a new 10.5 metre area for cycle parking in place of the 30-minute waiting; then
  • the existing area of 30-minute permitted parking at the west end will remain, then an area of No Waiting, then
  • a further length of No Waiting; thereafter the existing 30-minute waiting will change to No Waiting 8am to 6.30pm Monday to Saturday followed by another cycle parking area 6 metres long.

Objections to the proposals and other representations, specifying the grounds on which they are made, may be sent in by completing the online questionnaire, via email or in writing (quoting ref: CM.12.6.320) to the address below by 05 July 2019. The Council will consider objections and representations received in response and they may be disseminated widely for these purposes and made available to the public.

Any unresolved objections will be reported to the Council’s Cabinet Member for Environment Decisions later in 2019. The papers for the meeting will be available on the County Council’s website about a week before the meeting.
