Options for a South East Perimeter Road for Bicester

PLEASE NOTE: THIS CONSULTATION IS NOW CLOSED

Oxfordshire County Council is consulting on two route options for a South East Perimeter Road in Bicester. The Perimeter Road will support employment and housing growth in the town.

Two route options have been identified to connect from the A41 (north of M40 Junction 9) to Graven Hill:

• Route Option 1: An alignment connecting from the existing Vendee Drive roundabout.

• Route Option 2: An alignment further south of Option 1, closer to the village of Wendlebury.

Both options would connect to a ‘safeguarded’ section, a corridor that has been set aside for a new road, to the south of Graven Hill.

This consultation will help to determine which alignment should be included in Part Two of the Cherwell Local Plan, a decision that needs to be made by Spring/ Summer 2016.

Your views are an important part of the decision-making process and will be considered alongside other factors including archaeological, environmental, and engineering aspects, all of which have a bearing on the feasibility of each option.

Please take time to read through the consultation document below before responding through our online questionnaire. Higher resolution versions of maps and supporting evidence ( A ‘Preliminary ecological appraisal, planning advice and engineering feasibility’ Report, 2015) are also provided below.

For further background information please refer to the Bicester Movement Study (2013), which can be found on Cherwell District Council's website here, with additional technical evidence (October 2014) provided here.

Thank you very much for taking the time to respond.
