AMENDED Queen Street Area (Oxford) Experimental Traffic Regulation Order

Ends: 09 May 2018

Oxfordshire County Council has made a variation to the existing experimental order, made 13.10.17 (details found here https://consultations.oxfordshire.gov.uk/consult.ti/QueenStreetExperimental/consultationHome )

As it has been found appropriate to rescind the original proposal and revert to allowing Taxis to use Queen Street, with the rank reinstated near Carfax. This will operate between 6.30pm and 8.00am all days, with the continued prohibition of Taxis and Private Licensed cars using Queens Street as a through route – i.e. only Taxis entering to use the Taxi rank are permitted.

The Experimental Order will operate for a maximum period of 18 months. A decision of the proposal to remove buses as well from Queen Street has been deferred.

The Council will be considering in due course whether the provisions of the Experimental Order should be continued in force indefinitely. Any person may object to the making of the experimental Order for the purposes of such indefinite continuation within a period of 6 months (a) beginning with the day on which the experimental Order comes into force or (b) if that Order is varied by any order made by the Council or modified by the Director for Environment and Economy of the Council pursuant to Section 10(2) of the 1984 Act, beginning with the day on which the variation or modification comes into force.
