SEND Communication and Engagement

In Oxfordshire we are committed to building strong relationships with our families and school community as we work as a team to support our learners with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).

This survey was open from 8th June to 21st June, and we received 23 responses.

The results will be used to improve the ways that we communicate with you, and to improve opportunities for you to let us know how you feel about the SEND support services you receive.

We want to thank all the parents who took part.  We appreciate that this is a difficult time for families, and there may be many who were unable to take part this time around.  We will continue to check with you to ensure that our methods of communication meet your needs.

Here are some of the changes that will take place to improve our communication with you:

  • We will promote SEND information and activities via our Newsletter, Schools, and through Social Media, as you have told us that is where you prefer to access updates.
  • We will hold a termly drop in with the members of the SEND service, and our Health and Social Care colleagues.
  • It is important that you know where to go for information and support. We will promote groups and information sharing platforms for children with SEND and their families.
  • We will organise a single mailbox for you to use if you have generic feedback about SEND services.
