Sydenham Road (Sydenham) - Proposed Traffic Calming

Oxfordshire County Council proposes to construct the following traffic calming feature on Sydenham Road, in order to assist the safe movement of traffic and help improve road safety in the area:

A Chicane (two build-outs on opposing sides of the carriageway) at the following location:

  • Sydenham Road – 236* metres south-west of its junction with Plough Corner. The build-outs will be sited 14 metres apart. Priority will be given to traffic travelling south-westwards on Sydenham Road.

* All dimensions are approximate, taken from the centre of the junction to the centre of the feature.

Objections to the proposals and other representations, specifying the grounds on which they are made, may be sent in by completing the online questionnaire or via email (quoting ref: JaC.12.6.378) no later than 15 May 2020. The Council will consider objections and representations received in response and they may be disseminated widely for these purposes and made available to the public.

Any unresolved objections will be reported to the Council's Cabinet meeting. The papers for the meeting will be available on the County Council's website a week before the meeting.
